From Transcendent Shore
"The Transcendent Shore" creates an atmosphere and a musical suggestion.
A repeated motif and layered sounds evoke the experience of being on the beach, standing at the point where water meets sand, listening with eyes closed to the sights that sound on the shoreline.
And then it happens. Synesthesia. Before your very ears.
Close your eyes during the final section, and you can actually hear the sight of the ocean as it swells and subsides.
Inspired by the compositions of Michael Hedges and Phillip Glass, Thatcher takes guitar-playing right to the edge of the transcendent shore.
To Music World
Next Thursday, March 15, Thatcher will give a feature performance at Rick's Music World, 421 New State Highway, Raynham, MA 02767
Rick Santos runs a family friendly open mic. Performer sign up is from 6:15 to 6:45 pm. The show starts at 7 pm. Then, after the first round of open mic performers, Thatcher will take the stage and spin more than a little bit of musical magic.
Rick considers his open mic to be his music store's most important community service effort. The open mic provides a casual, family-friendly performance venue for all the members of the local community.
For those of you who arrive just a little bit hungry, Rick's comes with the added benefit of having a cafe on site. While you're listening to the music, you can nibble on homemade desserts, cookies, brownies, snacks, candy and gourmet coffee, tea, Arizona & Snapple, water and soda.
Admission is $3 per person (kids 5 and under are free).
There you have it, from end to end, from Transcendent Short to Music World.
Musically yours, until the next time.
