New Bedford Symphony Orchestra has picked the recipients of the 2018 Lillian B. Lamoureux Scholarships.
This year’s $1,000 junior scholarship winner is classical guitarist Thatcher Harrison of Dartmouth who plans to use his scholarship to offset costs of applying to college music programs, including live on-campus auditions. He intends to major in classical guitar performance and composition.
You are cordially invited to join veteran Dartmouth-based singer/songwriter and folk musician Charlie Cover and his musical guests for a very special holiday concert at the intimate and historic Dartmouth Grange. Traditional songs of the season, original tunes, and more! Charlie will share the evening with Joanne Doherty and Thatcher Harrison....
When Thatcher Harrison was about nine, he joined fellow Dartmouth musician Charlie Cover on stage at the Padanaram Village Farmers Market one Friday afternoon to perform a few songs.
“When the kid was playing, everything stopped,” said organizer Tony Melli. “No one was buying anything. Everyone was staring at this kid with a voice like an angel.”
If you want to spend a pleasant afternoon listening to the music of one of Dartmouth’s youngest musical prodigies, you won’t want to miss this Friday’s Dartmouth Farmer’s Market located at St. Peter’s Church on Rex Field, 351 Elm Street in scenic Padanaram Village. Harrison returns after his last visit in July with a variety of music ranging from contemporary to classical on a variety of instruments.
This Friday, the market is pleased to announce the return of another very talented young musician, Thatcher Harrison. Thatcher has appeared at the market on several occasions, and has proven himself quite capable of filling the entire music venue for the afternoon. Shoppers visiting on Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. will enjoy a wide variety of numbers ranging from light rock to contemporary pieces.
